It's amazing how fast how quickly the syntensity code all just disappeared, it was a great concept even if it only existed for two weeks and the API was undocumented.

Great to see someone working on that again, good luck!

what do you mean? the syntensity code existed for a long time, but it's been gone since several years ago. The project right now is a clean-room thing, starting off Tesseract directly, and very different in concept.

Either way, lacking time a little currently, but I still hope to get somewhere within a few months.

To the best of my knowledge the syntensity servers were only actually online for a little while, maybe a few years? I remember octaforge was once a fork of syntensity, with similar goals of advanced scripting with an online game browser, but it looks like you've moved on from that goal?

That's cool too, modernization efforts of all types are quite nice.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and say I've followed this (general) set of projects for well over a decade, and it's nice to see people still looking in that direction.

yes, i've moved on towards more of an engine-focused project, see https://git.octaforge.org/OctaForge/OctaCore/wiki/Home

pretty much i want to provide clean/portable/fully FOSS framework to make games on, with an advanced editor and C++ API, but without much of the online or scripting aspect (somebody could build that on top of that later, if desired)

I will note that I actually think cube2 looks a lot better than tesseract. Those baked lightmaps are just much better than a lot of what we see these days, it holds up well.
